Effective date: 8 September 2026
The security coverage check at check.teresec.com.au (the "tool") is operated by TERESEC Pty Ltd (ABN 65 694 460 065) ("TERESEC", "we", "us", "our").
These terms apply to the tool, its programming interfaces, its on-screen results, the report links it issues and the reports it emails (together, the "output"). They supplement the Terms of Use for teresec.com.au; where the two differ in relation to the tool, these terms prevail.
By using the tool you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the tool.
We may change these terms at any time by publishing an updated version on this page. The version in force is the one published at the time you use the tool. We will update the effective date when we make a change.
The tool compares the products and licence tiers you select against our own catalogue of capability-to-framework mappings. Its output is general information only. It does not take into account your organisation's systems, configuration, risk profile, obligations or circumstances.
Nothing in the output constitutes:
The output reflects what the licence tiers you selected appear to entitle you to, based on our best-effort reading of each vendor's own documentation as at the dates shown, not whether any capability is deployed, configured or effective in your environment. Our catalogue is partial and evolving: coverage counts and findings change as our research and mapping progress, and the mapping may contain errors or omissions.
Formal advice is provided only under a written engagement with TERESEC.
The output is provided on a no-reliance basis. You must not rely on it, and must not represent it to any other person as a basis for reliance, when making purchasing, compliance, certification, insurance, contractual or other decisions, without obtaining independent verification and advice specific to your circumstances.
The output depends wholly on the accuracy of the selections you make and the answers you give. Questions you leave unanswered are treated as "not sure", and the output says so.
By submitting selections, answers or contact details you confirm that you are authorised to provide that information on behalf of the organisation it concerns. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the tool.
The tool issues report links that are valid for 7 days and display the report to anyone who holds the link. Who you share a link with is your responsibility. We may invalidate report links at any time, including for security reasons; to retain a report beyond its link's validity, print it or save it as a PDF.
The tool's catalogue (including its capability taxonomy, its mapping of products and licence tiers to capabilities, and its mapping of capabilities to framework requirements), together with the tool's design and the TERESEC name and marks, is owned by TERESEC or used under licence, and is protected by Australian and international copyright and trade mark law. Our catalogue data includes identification markers that enable detection of copying.
You may view, download and print reports about your own selections for your own internal use. You may not, without our prior written permission:
The tool reproduces third-party content under licence: Information Security Manual control identifiers, control statements and Essential Eight maturity markings (© Commonwealth of Australia, CC BY 4.0, via cyber.gov.au); the ISM release assessed is stated in every result and report. Product and vendor names are the trade marks of their respective owners; their use in the tool is referential only and implies no affiliation, endorsement or partnership unless expressly stated.
Statements in the output describe our catalogue (what we have and have not mapped) and are not statements about any vendor's product. Positive capability claims are drawn from the vendor's own published documentation, cited and dated in the output.
You must not use the tool to break any law or infringe anyone's rights, and you must not:
Security testing. Security testing of the tool is not authorised. If you believe you have found a vulnerability in the course of ordinary use, report it under our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy rather than investigating it further.
The tool is provided free of charge, without any service levels. We may change, suspend or withdraw the tool, or any part of it, at any time without notice.
We take reasonable care in researching and maintaining the tool's catalogue, but we do not warrant that:
Vendor products, licence tiers and documentation change frequently. Capability claims were checked against vendor documentation on the dates shown in the output and may not reflect later changes.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law:
Any vendor may request review of any claim the tool makes that concerns their product. Write to info@teresec.com.au: we will acknowledge within 2 business days and complete our assessment within 10. If the vendor's documentation supports the request, we correct the catalogue, update the checked dates and republish; if we disagree, we respond in writing with the documentation we rely on.
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary, specific to the tool: contact details you submit with a report request are used to deliver the report and to follow up on your enquiry; the report link encodes the selections and answers it reports on; anonymised hashes of selections are logged to detect abuse; and a human-verification check runs on submissions.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the courts of appeal from them.
